schools have been updated in recent years in
both physical facilities and courses of
study.
There is a Tennessee Technology Center located in McKenzie, Tennessee, twenty-three miles east of Martin and has a classroom branch in the Weakley County Adult Education Center in Dresden. This school serves the three county area of Weakley, Carroll and Henry. There is a similar school forty miles to the west of Martin in Newbern, Tennessee. Both schools work closely with Martin and Weakley County to serve the training needs of existing and new industry.

The University of Tennessee at Martin
The 900 acre campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin includes a 700-acre farm, a research unit of the University of Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station. Enrollment is approximately
7,150.
UTM offers 17 undergraduate degree programs,
which are supported by more than 80
specialized programs. Masters degrees are
offered in Business, Education, Family and
Consumer Sciences, and Agriculture
Operations Management.

The University of Tennessee at Martin also has an Office of Extended Campus and Continuing Education. Through this office, the University offers both degree and non-degree courses on a wide array of subjects. The University also offers one of the only totally 'online' undergraduate degree programs in the State of Tennessee, the Online Bachelor of University Studies degree program, where all courses can be taken over the internet and some course credit is given for life experience.
In addition to providing West Tennessee with an institution of higher education, the University of Tennessee at Martin offers many cultural advantages to the city and area. Nationally known entertainment groups perform at the University's Fine Arts Building. The West Tennessee Agriculture Pavilion serves as a convention center. A variety of events ranging from rodeos, national horse shows, food fairs and a Christmas Village are held here.

(REED Center)
The Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic
Development Center (REED Center) has been
established to meet the needs of existing and
potential business owners through one-on-one
consultations and interactive training programs.
It serves as a hub of information for
prospective entrepreneurs and owners of existing
small businesses who need individual consultant
services, group training services and associated
technical resources. The REED Center offers
courses, workshops and training sessions that
respond to the needs of small businesses and
supports regional economic development.
